Meet Our Pastor

Matecumbe United Methodist Church welcomed Reverend Robert L. Pavey and his wife Marcia to the Florida Keys in July 2012.  Prior to accepting the position, Pastor Bob was working with Frankfort Camp Ministries, in Frankfort, Indiana on Project Development. He also served as the Senior Pastor at Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church in New Castle, Indiana for six years, and served 15 years as Senior Pastor at Central Wesleyan Church in Anderson, Indiana. Prior to his service in Indiana, he served a Nazarene Church in Albany, Georgia as a Youth & Outreach minister.

Judging by his resume, Pastor Bob is a man of many talents. He has also work for General Motors as a machinist/assembly line coordinator for 10 years, assistant manager of Zale’s Corporation for three years and Chaplain for the Indiana State Police.  He has a Bachelors of Theology degree from Emmanuel Theological Seminary in Rossville, Georgia and an M.A. degree from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana. Pastor Bob  and his wife have two children and 11 grandchildren.
